Money for research into the West Nile virus

Anne-Lie Blomström of the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Veterinary Public Health has been granted establishment funding of SEK 6 million from the Swedish Research Council.

An announcement on which medicine and health applications had been granted was made on 27 October. These included Anne-Lie Blomström, BVF, who applied for finance for a project on insect-specific virus for the control of West Nile virus infection in animals and people.

The funding is for SEK 1.5 million per year for four years, starting in 2017.
