Robin Harder

Robin aspires to contribute to a world in which nutrients are recirculated from human excreta and other organic residuals to agriculture in a way the supports healthy water, soil, food, and people.

Presentation

Robin has a background in sanitary engineering and environmental systems analysis, and a keen interest in food and farming systems. His current interest lies with applying a systems perspective to recirculating nutrients and carbon from human excreta to productive agriculture.

Research

To achieve more comprehensive nutrient recovery and reuse, I believe it is crucial that we see human excreta management as part of food and farming systems rather than as part of waste management. This premise underpins much of my research as environmental systems analyst.

I am currently involved in the following projects:

- End-of-wastewater: Co-creation of a knowledge brokering and public engagement toolbox to support sustainable nutrient and carbon recovery and reuse.
