The aim of the research project is to validate estimates of methane emissions from dairy cows and recruitment heifers and evaluate their contribution and impact throughout their life when fed best practice diets. The project also aims to create an in-depth understanding of the factors that are important for reduced negative and increased positive impact on the circulation of plant nutrients and how the net production of food from Swedish agricultural land can increase.
