Presentation

My reseach area is forest management planning with focus on methods and processes for including multiple objectives and involving stakeholders in the planning. My primary expertise is the use of decision support tools, e.g., the Heureka system, and multiple criteria decision analysis (MCDA).

Teaching

I teach mainly on the courses:

  • PlanWise as decision support in forestry planning (SG0155)
  • Sustainable management of Boreal forests (SH0119)

Supervision

I currently supervise three PhD candidates:

Andreas Eriksson at the Department of Forest Resource Management, SLU, and the Swedish Forest Agency, “Using scenario analysis to estimate the role of forestry in society’s transition towards bioeconomy under climate change”.

Isabella Hallberg Sramek at the Department of Forest Genetics and Plant Physiology, SLU, “Impact of climate change adaptation and mitigation on future forests”.

Rikard Jonsson at the Department of Forest Biomaterials and Technology, SLU, and SkogForsk, “Multi-criteria decision support in forest operations research and development”.

In the past, I have been supervisor of the following PhD candidates:

Julia Carlsson at the Department of Forest Resource Management, SLU, “Participatory scenario analysis in forest resource management”, dissertation 2017.

Isak Lodin at the Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre, SLU, “Current versus alternative forest management practices in Southern Sweden”, dissertation 2020.

I also supervise thesis work of forestry students at bachelor and master level.
