What will be able to grow in the future? What will we be able to eat in a world shaped by climate change? And how do we find out? The answers to these questions are explored in an exhibition about production, place, and the world that lies ahead.
Through photographs, models, popular science texts, the exhibition showcases both SLU’s long-term agricultural experiments and other research focused on the food of the future.
In long-term agricultural experiments , the long-term effects of the crops, crop rotations and farming practices used in agriculture are studied. Some of the data generated there is used in efforts to ensure the sustainability of future food production, because in a changing world characterised by increasingly extreme weather, new crops, new production methods and new habits are required.
Thematic events will be organized throughout the exhibition. They will be announced in the library calendar.
The exhibition is produced by the SLU University Library in collaboration with SLU Future Food and the researchers of SLU and runs from 9 to 27 November.
Join us for the grand opening and researcher relay on Monday 9 November 14.00. Relay participants Örjan Östman, Elin Röös, Helena Aronsson, Anne Sophie Dietrich and Anna Westerberg will share their most exciting insights related to future food in five 3-minute presentations. Snacks will be served.
