This workshop brings together researchers from SLU and five Ukrainian universities to discuss pressing soil-related challenges intensified by the war, and to explore opportunities for joint research.
LU is strengthening its collaboration with Ukrainian universities as part of the deepening strategic partnership between Sweden and Ukraine. Building on existing scientific exchanges and shared interests in soil health, sustainable agriculture, and nutrient management, this workshop brings together researchers from SLU and five Ukrainian universities to discuss pressing soil-related challenges intensified by the war, and to explore opportunities for joint research.
The purpose of the workshop is to identify shared research priorities that can form the basis of future Horizon Europe proposals, and to foster new links and collaborations between researchers in Sweden and Ukraine. The programme includes thematic sessions on soil remediation, nutrient recycling, sustainable agriculture, and climate resilience, combining short presentations with facilitated discussion aimed at producing concrete, shared research questions.
All are welcome to take part, whether as a presenter or as an attendee contributing to the discussion. Presenters are invited to give a short contribution (up to 15 minutes) relating their research to the topics listed above. Both on-site and online participation are possible, and a more detailed program will be published in September.
Registration is closed but some places remain for participants. If you want to attend, please contact Oksana Valetska.
