Welcome to a digital lecture on how Open Science can promote equal and inclusive scientific publishing. The lecture, with a global perspective focusing on Latin America, Africa and Asia, is a part of Open Access Week 2022.
In an open lecture titled “The varying openness of Open Access publishing in the light of globally inclusive research equity”, Dr. Jo Havemann, trainer and consultant in Open Science Communication with a background in Evolution and Developmental biology discuss the path towards equal opportunities in publishing, detailing both the opportunities and challenges of Open Access publishing with a special focus on Latin America, Africa and Asia. She will also touch upon UNESCO:s Open Science recommendations and discuss how research can inform activities towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
The lecture will be livestreamed at the three main campuses and you are very welcome to participate in the lecture with others on site. It is also possible to take part in the lecture from another place via Zoom.
After the lecture, there will be an opportunity for questions and discussions, both with the speaker and other participants.
The lecture is part of the SLU Library’s Open Access Week 2022 programme. This year’s theme is climate justice.
