You can now use Freja eID

In the ID Portal, you can identify yourself using Freja eID to:

• activate a new SLU account
• reset your password
• increase the assurance level of your account (explanation of assurance levels).

An alternative for international users

An important advantage of Freja eID is that it can also be used by people who do not have a Swedish personal identity number or Swedish BankID. This makes Freja particularly useful for international students and other international users at SLU.

With a valid international NFC-enabled passport, users can verify their identity in the Freja app and create a digital electronic identity. This gives more users the ability to securely identify themselves online and manage their SLU account independently.

What is Freja eID?

Freja eID is a Swedish government-approved electronic identification (eID) that is used through an app on your mobile phone. Like BankID, it can be used to verify your identity when accessing digital services.

The introduction of Freja eID gives SLU another option for secure digital identification while making our services more accessible to users who are unable to use BankID.

Freja eID is available as an identification method in SLU’s ID Portal.
