Anders Dahlberg was honored with the Faculty of Forest Sciences' award for outstanding collaboration with society. This recognition stemmed from his collaborative efforts significantly contributing to society's comprehension of forest ecology and the important role of fungi in nature.

The entire statement highlights Anders' profound knowledge and his effective communication of it, which inspires others. His contributions to the forestry faculty and SLU in fostering collaboration with the local community have been exceptional. Anders has managed to popularize mycological knowledge without resorting to romanticizing nature's connections. Instead, he focuses on presenting fungi as inherently intriguing organisms. Through his collaborations, there has been a significant enhancement in understanding forest ecology and the pivotal role of fungi in nature.

– I feel deeply honored to be acknowledged for the collaborative efforts and public engagement activities I've dedicated myself to over the years. It's crucial and evident that those of us in academia share our knowledge in a critical, thoughtful manner and actively engage in societal discussions," says Anders.

During the day, the faculty also awarded prizes for best doctoral student activity and best technical/administrative staff. In addition, a book was presented about the The Swedish National Forest Inventory, which has now been around for 100 years.
