AgriFoSe2030 members join Leadership for Transformative Change programme

Published: 09 October 2023

In a significant stride towards sustainability and societal transformation, members of the AgriFoSe2030 programme, Merezia Wilson and Mohammed Samkunde who work in the project GenSens (Gender-sensitive village extension training) under challenge 3, have been selected to participate in the Leadership for Transformative Change programme.

The main objective of their project is to understand the inequities that prevent extension services from reaching women in Tanzania and how these can be mitigated. The participation of AgriFoSe2030 researchers in the leadership programme will give them the opportunity to share their experiences and be among 60 global leaders and pioneers for social development.

As we approach the 2030 Agenda with the Sustainable Development Goals in mind, this programme is designed for leaders across all societal sectors who are working towards sustainability and societal transformation. The program offers a framework that encourages collaboration and fosters teamwork among individuals dedicated to driving change. It equips leaders with the necessary knowledge, tools, and a network to create a sustainable future.

The leadership programme is developed by a consortium led by Uppsala University in collaboration with Karolinska Institutet, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Business Sweden, the World Wide fund for Nature (WWF), and SALAR International. Leadership for Transformative Change is initiated and funded by the Swedish Institute, Vinnova and Sida.
