Promising numbers

Ola Lindroos talks about application numbers for the fall semester.

There is good interest in the Faculty’s Bsc and MSc programs, despite that the overall number of applicants have decrease by at least 10% at SLU and other universities.

The three new BSc programs that replace the 5-year-long forestry program (Jägmästarprogrammet) are the first-hand choice for in total 130 national students. This is 51 students more than in 2020, when Jägmästarprogrammet was given for the last time.

There are also more international students applying for all our programs given in English. These students apply earlier than the national students, so those that fulfil the requirements have already been admitted to the programs. 105 international students have been admitted to one of our MSc programs, which is more than twice as many as last year. Now we keep our fingers crossed that the increase in applicants also result in an increased number of students that starts the programs in the fall.
