Research projects and force majeure

Research projects and similar that SLU is participating in may be terminated or experience delays as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

War is a typical force majeure event and may prevent SLU from fulfilling contractual obligations – however this cannot be used as an excuse if we have not met our obligations.

At the start of the coronavirus pandemic, the Legal Affairs Unit explained the rules around force majeure and hardship and how they affect SLU. The same principles apply in the event of war. Remember it is important that you inform your collaboration partners as soon as possible if you are unable to fulfil your obligations.
