Hanna Friberg elected to international organisation for plant protection

Hanna Friberg has been elected to the council of IOBC wprs, an international organisation that works with research and development of biological and integrated control of plant pests.

IOBC stands for International Organisation for Biological and Integrated Control. An important part of the activities is to promote international cooperation by arranging meetings and conferences within various working groups, and with communication through newsletters, books and journals. One example is the scientific journal BioControl. IOBC also formulates advice and guidelines for environmentally safe methods for pest and disease control.

­– Biological and integrated plant protection are areas that are currently developing rapidly, and where there is great interest, both from the scientific community and from society at large. I am very honored to be elected and look forward to work with these questions within IOBC, says Hanna Friberg who is a researcher at the Department of forest mycology and plant pathology.

Hanna will be part of the council for the west palaearctic regional section for the coming four years.
