Information Security Training

Published: 30 October 2019

Have you ever wondered about that mail from the tax authorities, or whether you really have a relative on some remote island in the Carribean? Do you use wirless networks when you travel, and do you get weird phone calls from Microsoft? Do you have information saved that you don’t want others to access, and that you don’t want to lose?

Have you ever wondered about that mail from the tax authorities, or whether you really have a relative on some remote island in the Carribean? Do you use wirless networks when you travel, and do you get weird phone calls from Microsoft? Do you have information saved that you don’t want others to access, and that you don’t want to lose?

At SLU we see several examples of staff computers being encrypted by ransomware, fake invoices that have been paid and other forms of IT attacks on our systems. When this happens, it’s very unfortunate for everyone involved and it often requires hours of work to fix the problem, if it’s at all possible.

With this in mind, and to increase everyone’s awareness of information security, we want to let you know that you will soon receive your first course module by email from course@nanolearning.com. We use the nanolearning platform for this information security training, which means you will receive an email with a link (under https://go.nanolearning.com) to the course. Each module should take no more than 2-4 minutes to complete. We hope that everyone understands the importance of information security, for your and SLU:s sake.
