On Tuesday, September 25, Pro-vice chancellor Karin Holmgren decided that SLU actively participates in the South Africa Sweden University Forum (SASUF).
SASUF aims at strengthening ties between South Africa and Sweden in research, education and innovation. The forum will connect universities with funding agencies, industry, ministries and society in working towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
SLU: s membership opens up for researchers to participate in the annual research & innovation weeks in 2019 and 2020, apply for collaboration seed funding to contribute to e-learning based collaborations.
The following academic themes are covered:
Theme 1: Climate change, natural resources and sustainability
Theme 2: Transforming Higher Education Curricula
Theme 3: Social transformation through change
Theme 4: Understanding the burden of disease in Sweden and South Africa
Theme 5: Urbanisation and cities in the 21st Century
Theme 6: Digital technologies, big data, and cybersecurity
For the second South Africa – Sweden research & innovation week in May 2019 we are now looking for researchers who are interested in participating.
