Teacher recruitment principles decided

Published: 30 October 2018

Together with the departments, the faculty management has discussed departmental skills supply. The departments have expressed the need to recruit about 30 senior lecturers and about 15 associate senior lecturers in the near future. It is both administratively and financially impossible to recruit so many in such a short time. Therefore, the faculty board has decided on priority principles for the proposed recruitments.

The principles involve prioritising recruitment of persons who cover immediate teaching needs. Subsequently, recruitments relating to long-term subject field staffing needs at the faculty must be prioritised.

Recruitment justifications can also include developing subject field research, reconstructing a department’s subject fields or strategically developing department research and doctoral education.

All recruitments must be justified based on the faculty strategy as well as the subject field staffing policy established in 2017. Recruitment priorities must be discussed with the programme board.
