New pro vice-chancellor responsible for international relations

A university like SLU is tasked by society with collecting information from across the globe. We also have the task and ambition to contribute to global development – a long-standing tradition at SLU, but something which can be developed further. To strengthen and focus our work on international issues, Ylva Hillbur has been recruited as pro vice-chancellor responsible for international relations.
Ylva Hillbur is employed at SLU in Alnarp where she has worked and researched as a chemical ecologist and also been head of department. For the past few years, she has been on leave of absence to work as Deputy Director-General for IITA (International Institute of Tropical Agriculture) in Ibadan, Nigeria. IITA have research stations in 13 African countries and is part of CGIAR (Consortium of International Agricultural Research Centers). Ylva Hillbur has important experience in international research and development work. She will be based in Alnarp, but her work will span the whole world. She takes up her post on 23 February.
