Popular cow release event in Lövsta

Thousands of people got to see happy cows turned out to summer pasture in fantastic weather at the Swedish Livestock Research Centre.
On Saturday 7 May, Arla let its cows out to pasture at SLU's Research Centre in Lövsta, outside of Uppsala.
Over 3,000 people pre-registered, 400 cars paid for parking and many people came by bicycle. The weather could not have been better. The first car arrived at 8.30 and the last one was still there at around 15.00 in the afternoon.
A new feature this year was that the centre display floor was open to the general public and, according to on-site staff, the visitors were very interested and open to learning more.
“The visitors really appreciated that the floor was open and we could have shown them much more of SLU. They wanted to know everything! The barbecue was also very popular. A big thank you to Anderson & Tillman who donated sausages and buns,” says Emma Ternman, Research Coordinator at the Swedish Livestock Research Centre.
Last but not least, we want to thank all members of staff and student volunteers who worked hard to make everything work that day by the barbecue, in the display rooms and with the cows being let out.
