Three departments become one – the new Department of Molecular Sciences

On 1 January 2017, the new Department of Molecular Sciences will be created by merging the Department of Microbiology, the Department of Food Science and the Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology.

As a consequence of this merger, the NJ Faculty Board has decided to establish the doctoral education subjects food science and biology specialising in microbiology at the new Department of Molecular Sciences. The previous subjects structures and properties in food, animal food science, plant food science and bioactive components in food at the Department of Food Science will be transferred to the new department.
