Presentation
After working on sanitation system planning and modelling in my master thesis, my interests and expertise evolved throughout my doctorate to a more interdisciplinary work environment at the science-society-policy interface. I enrolled in the Transitions to Sustainability (T2S) Doctoral School with its goal of promoting and supporting inter- and transdisciplinary research in the field of sustainable development. My previous work aimed at improving the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 on water and sanitation as part of the UN 2030 Agenda. My research focused on the development and evaluation of coherent policy-options to boost the implementation at the example of Austria and on the assessment of methods to evaluate interactions between different SDG entities.
Here at SLU I work in the system analysis group lead by Jennifer McConville. My work focuses on assessing the sustainability of different (sanitation) systems for resource recovery and identifying and balancing trade-offs between sustainability aspects related to these systems. Particularly when it comes to trade-offs, an interdisciplinary perspective appears to be important, thus I am glad to be part of the interdisciplinarty academy (IDA) at SLU.
