I am developing a research in the field of urban biodiversity and design and history of landscape architecture, offering new advanced level courses in English and reinforcing international cooperation with landscape architecture programmes in Europe, USA and New Zealand

Teaching

I am the leader in the Landscape Architecture History, Theory and Practice (advanced Master’s level course) and of the Trädgårds och Parkhistoria (History of Landscape Architecture) 1st year course. I am participating in the Design by Management and Landscape Project Studio international Master’s level subjects and supervising master’s and PhD students.

Research

My areas of interest in research are:

Theoretical, methodological and practical approaches to sustainable landscape design in the era of globalisation with an emphasis to urban biodiversity and design.

History of landscape architecture, restoration and conservation of historical parks and gardens.

Today the process of globalisation associated with using similar planning structures, landscape architecture styles, plants and construction materials. Urban biodiversity as part of landscape design can play an important role for ecological and national identity of cities around the world. My particular interest is lawn as cultural and ecological phenomenon and a symbol of globalization.
