Presentation

I work as a researcher in aquatic ecotoxicology as well as with environmental monitoring and assessment. Much of my research has been on studies of toxicological effects of chemicals on the development of zebrafish embryos. My main focus is now on the effects of environmental pollution on amphibians. This is done partly through analyses of wild tadpoles and partly by laboratory studies of the effects of chemicals on frog embryos and tadpoles.

Research

MiSSE is a Formas-funded project where SLU, IVM in Amsterdam and the universities in Stockholm and Umeå cooperate and studies endocrine disrupting chemicals in our homes. We look at both which chemicals that are present in indoor dust and their endocrine disrupting potency on the thyroid system.

Tadpoles as bioindicator is a project within SLU's environmental monitoring and assessment, where frog tadpoles in natural waters are analyzed for signs of effects that can indicate chemical exposure.

Great pond snail for biomonitoring is also a project within SLU's environmental monitoring and assessment, where we study sensitive reproductive parameters of the Great pond snail. We primarily focus on the impact of sewage treatment plants to the environmental state in the recipients.
