SLU Animal Welfare Body (Försöksdjursnämnden) invites you to a seminar on how existing studies can be used more effectively to support the replacement, reduction and refinement of animal use in research. Animal studies produce important knowledge, but their value depends on how well the results are reported and implemented.
This seminar will introduce systematic reviews as a tool for bringing together and assessing existing research in a structured way. Systematic reviews can show what is already known, where there are gaps in knowledge, and whether there is enough evidence to justify new studies. They are also used to assess how studies are reported and how reliable the results are.
New legislation (L151) requires continuous professional development and training (CPD) for persons involved in animal use in research. Attendance at this seminar can be used to fulfil this requirement, and a certificate will be provided for in-person participation.
