SILVA invites you to an interactive breakfast seminar with three experienced PhDs with a career within and outside academia.
The seminar will feature three speakers:
Dr. Göran Spong – Associate Professor, Vice Dean for Education, Faculty of Forest Sciences.
Dr. Ellinor Sahlen – County Board of Västerbotten
Dr. Hussein Khalil – Assistant Professor, Vice Dean for Education, Faculty of Forest Sciences.
Dr. Spong has worked on a wide range of ecological questions across the globe during last two decades, and supervised many doctoral student projects linked to large mammal conservation and management in Europe, Africa, and North America.
Dr. Ellinor Sahlen did her Phd at SLU on Brown bears and Moose and currently works at the County Administrative Board of Västerbotten, in their Nature Conservation and management Unit. Ellinor deals with wide variety of practical natural resource management issues at work, from complaints, protective hunting, and human wildlife conflicts.
Dr. Hussein Khalil did his PhD at SLU and a postdoc at the Univ. of Liverpool with work focused in Europe and Latin America. Dr. Khalil works on issues linked to human animal interactions and zoonotic diseases, movements, and public health interventions.
