It is often relevant to integrate a gender perspective in research questions and research projects. Simply put, research that will have an impact on people also has a gender dimension. Growing numbers of research funding bodies also demand a gender perspective in the applications.
Therefore, the equal opportunities committee at the VH faculty is arranging a seminar for researchers who want to know more about what this mean and how such an approach can be carried out.
Questions that will be addressed are: How can such a methodology/approach be implemented in a research proposal alt. in the project? In what ways does funders assess/review a gender perspective when they are asking you to consider this dimension in your research project?
Gender research at SLU is connected to several research fields and departments. On SLU’s Staff web you can read more about gender research at SLU.
In preparation for this seminar, we would like to know more about gender research at the VH faculty, by initiating a simple mapping, so that we can learn more from each other. We are also looking for participants in our own research fields for the seminar. Therefore, if you are or have been using a gender dimension in your research let us know by sending us an e-mail. We would also like to know if you would be interested in giving a short presentation (10-15 minutes) at the seminar. Send your e-mail to malin.ekstrom@slu.se.
