SLU 50 years
Last changed: 09 October 2026
In 2027, SLU celebrates the 50th anniversary, marking the time since the university was formed through the merger of several higher education institutions in 1977.
During the anniversary year, we want to celebrate the breadth of SLU’s research and education, its societal impact, and its presence throughout the country. Through various activities and meetings across Sweden, we aim to highlight how the university’s knowledge contributes to people’s everyday lives, societal development, and sustainable living environments for the future.
Save the date
On January 27, 2027, the anniversary year will launch with a joint event involving students and staff across the country. More information will follow, but be sure to mark that afternoon in your calendar!
