Digital Timetables in TimeEdit
SLU is introducing digital course schedules in TimeEdit (TE) Viewer, making them available in the same place for all courses. This new interface features real-time updates, a uniform look, and easy calendar integration for students.
Together, the Division for Learning and Digitalisation and the Room Booking Team will introduce digital course schedules at SLU. The schedule can be accessed from the Canvas room, where teachers can also edit the schedule. The increased accessibility is particularly helpful for students who need a clear structure.
To begin, we have started to post interactive videos and information. Before the deadline on the 15th of November, we will be having drop-in sessions on Zoom that you can join. Times and dates can be found on our course booking page. We can also visit your department for in-person meetings to answer your questions and discuss the introduction of digital course schedules.
What is a digital course schedule, and what does it contain?
A digital course schedule is updated in real time when changes are made to the system. The schedule includes basic information such as:
- day
- time
- place (not room)
- activity
- teacher
- title
- other brief information.
To create a more complete schedule, you can add classes that do not require a room, such as excursions, study visits and digital meetings. Canvas should be used for information such as course descriptions and deadlines for submitting assignments.
How is the digital schedule created?
The information you provide in the booking form for each period is used to create the digital course schedule. This means that a detailed and complete order form results in a more complete and clear schedule for students.

Book a room for preparations or port-work
If you need to book a room for preparations or post-work, for example, when using labs, you can use the Preferences form. In the form:
- Choose "Other" in the activities field.
- Write "Pre- and postwork" in the field "Information to the booker".
The room will be booked for the requested time, but it will not appear in the students' digital schedule. As a teacher, you can see the booking if you log in as Staff in TimeEdit.
