Suggestions when creating a new password

  • At least twelve characters long
Password advice
  • Use a password manager. The password manager givs you strong passwords for each site but you only need to know the password for the manager. Otherwise...
  • Use long passwords, e.g. by combining random words, numbers and characters. It should not be easy to link to you, e.g. name, initials, personal ID, phone number, user ID, car, or other personal information.
  • Not be in any dictionary or be a person’s name
  • Not contain simple keyboard patterns, such as 1qaz2wsx
  • Don’t reuse your old passwords
