How SLU is working with AI
The Chief Operating Officer recently assigned three tasks to the digitalisation group within University Administration: procuring licences, providing staff training and developing internal rules.
SLU invests in secure AI services for employees
SLU has launched a project to provide employees with access to approved AI services that can simplify tasks, save time and improve the quality of their work. The aim is to ensure that AI can be used safely and securely, supported by clear rules and training.
The project will be implemented in two phases:
- Phase 1 provides access to basic AI support for tasks such as editing texts, summarising information and searching for information.
- Phase 2, scheduled to begin in September 2027, will introduce more advanced AI services that may also be used to process information requiring a higher level of protection, subject to a specific assessment.
The project is coordinated by the IT Department, the Library and the Executive Office, which are responsible for technical solutions, training, and internal rules and regulatory compliance, respectively.
The project is scheduled for completion in December 2027. Further information about available services, training and how to obtain licences will be published on the Staff Web.
