Basic education
Recent positions and professional assignments
- Professor in conservation biology since 2018
Important future issues for the faculty and how I can contribute
- It is a privilege to be a recruited professor at SLU. However, to be a slightly more junior researcher implies harsher conditions, and therefore we should do our best to become more attractive for “intermediately young” researchers.
- We should continue to develop our work to obtain more equal opportunities.
- We should make our education more attractive to potential students.
- There is a need for harmonising routines among faculties.
Personal reflections
As a head of the subject area Conservation Biology, I have prioritized:
- More collaboration in the group and with colleagues in Uppsala, Alnarp, and Umeå.
- Broaden the research regarding questions and methods, which improves quality.
- Ph D eduction.
- More distance courses, to reach students all over Sweden.
- Webinars that communicate research outcomes to practitioners.
