The national heat of Forskar Grand Prix will be held at SciFest in Uppsala on 9 October. And you can participate!
In the Researchers' Grand Prix, you will present your research in the most captivating, inspiring, and educational way possible – in just four minutes!
Researchers and PhD students from all over Sweden can participate in the national heat, which will take place in Uppsala during the SciFest Science Festival. The event is coordinated by the association Public and Science (Vetenskap och Allmänhet).
How to apply
To apply, you must submit a video in which you talk about your research. If you are selected, you will receive coaching in presentation techniques and help with your performance. Whether you win or not, the experience will be invaluable for the rest of your life.
Accommodation and travel expenses to Uppsala will be covered, making this an attractive opportunity for all SLU locations. Presentations can be given in Swedish or English.
The second year on SciFest
This is the second year that SciFest has partnered with Public and Science on the Forskar Grand Prix. Last year, Laura García Romañach, gave an excellent presentation in which she used dating apps as a metaphor to explain tree breeding. She is a PhD student at the Umeå Plant Science Centre (UPSC) and the Department of Forest Genetics and Plant Physiology at SLU.
Laura received the highest score from every member of the jury, but the winner was Carl Öhman from Uppsala University, with his research on our social media data after we die.
