New guidelines for using the email list aqua-alla

Published: 11 March 2026

New guidelines are now available for how to use the aqua-alla mailing list. The purpose of these guidelines is to reduce the number of emails, prevent unnecessary mass mailings, and at the same time ensure that important information reaches the right recipients.

The guidelines have been developed because there is a need for clearer guidance on how to send e-mail via aqua-alla. This need has emerged through the evaluation of our internal communication, feedback from the department’s local committee for an inclusive work environment (LIA, formerly SAM), and results from previous employee surveys.

This applies

Use aqua-alla when you have information that is relevant for all or the majority of employees at SLU Aqua.

Examples of when you can use aqua-alla:
  • Tips about new publications authored by SLU Aqua staff (including summaries in Swedish and English).
  • Invitations to meetings and activities aimed at all employees.
Do not use aqua-alla when your information only concerns a smaller group of staff.

Examples of when not to use aqua-alla
  • Reports and minutes from working groups or expert meetings.
  • Collections for birthday gifts or recommendations of products.

Find the right recipient group

Here you can find a list of current email groups at SLU Aqua. You can use this list to identify an appropriate recipient group instead of emailing aqua-alla. The list is also available through our intranet or via SharePoint.

Please remember to

  • Follow SLU Aqua’s language guidelines by always including both Swedish and English in emails sent via aqua-alla.
  • Avoid using “Reply all” for messages that come via aqua-alla—instead, take the discussion directly with the relevant individuals or within the appropriate email group.
  • Do not send emails via the aqua-alla outside working hours.
