From NJ Faculty Board 25 February

The first Faculty Board meeting of the year has taken place, and below is a summary of some of the items on the agenda:

Annual accounts 2025

Among other things, the board was informed about the faculty’s annual accounts for 2025. Turnover increased by approximately 1 per cent to just over SEK 1.7 billion, while the number of full-time equivalent employees decreased slightly to 1,045.

Recruitments

The faculty board decided to recruit two senior lecturers: one in food biotechnology at the Department of Molecular Sciences, and one in crop science at the Department of Crop Production Ecology.

New board members

The faculty board appointed a new member to the The Environmental monitoring and assessment board: Johanna Wetterlind at the Department of Soil and Environment. The faculty board also appointed Brian Kuns at the Department of Urban and Rural Development as a full member of the Programme Board.

The faculty's decision-making body is the faculty board and makes decisions that promote education, research, and development within the faculty. This includes:

  • Deciding on tasks and resource allocation to institutions and other units.
  • Deciding on the subject areas to be included within the faculty.
  • Ensuring that operations are tailored to maintain high-quality education, research, and environmental analysis and that resources are used efficiently.
  • Deciding on the organisation of the faculty, including the division into boards, committees, etc.
  • Deciding when the recruitment of a professor should take place and, in connection with that, establishing the employment profile.
