Sara Bergek appointed new Head of Department at the Department of Aquatic Resources

As of 1 July 2025, Sara Bergek will take up the position as Head of Department at the Department of Aquatic Resources at SLU.
The appointment is the result of an internal recruitment process in which both internal and external candidates could be nominated. Following interviews, a hearing, and an advisory vote, it became clear that Sara had strong support among the department’s staff.
The decision was negotiated with the unions and approved on 24 June 2025.
– Thank you for the trust you've placed in me as new Head of Department! I’m really looking forward to working with all of you to continue developing the department’s activities. Now a summer awaits us — hopefully with some rest and recovery for everyone — and I’m looking forward to seeing you again in the autumn, says Sara Bergek.
The appointment is valid until further notice, but no later than 31 August 2028.
