The first internal seminar within ‘AI-for-teachers’ took place on April 9th. It was well-attended, attracting over 90 teachers and other interested individuals from SLU's various faculties.

Project leader and educational developer Matt Low from EPU spoke about how to get started with AI.

- Understanding these fundamental aspects is not only necessary for using AI effectively in our work, but is also a prerequisite for developing an ethical foundation for how teachers and students interact with AI, says Matt.

The presentation focused on understanding what generative AI is, how models are trained, and how our interactions and expectations differ from the use of traditional computer programs. Keep an eye out for SLU's educational initiative on AI for teachers, which has now launched.
