New model for basic training in fire protection

Published: 17 March 2025

The mandatory fire protection training for SLU employees is being updated. During the spring of 2025, more than 300 employees will be invited to attend on-site training sessions in Umeå, Uppsala, Skara, and Alnarp.

This spring, a new round of the mandatory basic training in systematic fire protection work (SBA) for SLU employees will be conducted. The training is required every four years and provides fundamental knowledge of fire safety.

"The purpose of the training is to ensure that all employees have basic knowledge and skills in fire protection. We hope that this will be prioritised by those of you who are called and that your participation will be encouraged and followed up by your immediate manager. Keep an eye on your inbox," says Torbjörn Alwehammar, fire protection manager at SLU.

Who should attend the training?

If you last completed the training in 2021, you will soon receive an invitation via email from our contract company DAFO. The invitation applies to training sessions in May, held on-site in Umeå, Uppsala, Skara, and Alnarp. More than 300 employees will be invited.

About the training

The training lasts approximately three hours and is conducted in both Swedish and English. After completing the training, you will be able to print a training certificate.
