Newsletter Week 51: Security Improvements Ahead of the Transition to Microsoft 365

SLU continues its preparations for the transition to Microsoft 365 in spring 2026. As part of this work, several security-enhancing measures will be implemented during December and January to protect SLU’s information and establish a secure foundation for the migration.
Upcoming security improvements in January
- You may need to sign in more frequently than before
- External and dial-in participants in Teams will need to be admitted from the lobby
Security measures already implemented
- Guests can no longer invite other guests to Teams spaces
- Stricter security requirements for administrator accounts
- Only admin accounts have access to administrative interfaces
- “Keep me signed in” has been removed
- The synchronization infrastructure has been upgraded
Preparations for migration
As part of the preparations, we will also review how information is stored in email and on SharePoint going forward. More information about this will be provided later.
