News from the VH faculty board 18 October

Recruitment

The Faculty Board reviewed a number of recruitment cases and, among other things, decided to initiate the recruitment of several professors and university lecturers.

Finance

The financial report for the third quarter was presented, and the faculty's result, amounting to 4 million SEK, is better than budgeted.

The Faculty Board made decisions regarding the principles for budget allocation in 2024, most of which remain the same as in previous years. One change is that the faculty will reclaim support for newly recruited professors if it is not utilized within two years of their appointment. This change has been implemented to ensure that budget allocations are used for operational purposes more promptly, rather than being retained in the faculty's capital.

Strategy

The VH Faculty's strategy for 2021-2025 was revised to include UDS starting 2024.

Workforce Planning

The faculty's current workforce planning plan is in effect for the years 2021-2025, and now the initiative begins for continued work to address the faculty's response to future retirements. In December, the Faculty Board, vice deans, and department heads will meet in a workshop format to commence work on the faculty's overall workforce planning for the years 2026-2028.
