There is now an opportunity to register your interest in participating in a preparatory meeting on the IPCC's next special report dealing with climate change and cities. At the UN Climate Panel IPCC's 43rd meeting (Nairobi, Kenya, 11-13 April 2016), the panel decided that the seventh assessment cycle should include a special report on climate change and cities. A preparatory meeting regarding the report will be held in late March/early April 2024. The exact dates and location of this meeting will be announced upon confirmation.
The preparatory meeting must follow a specific draft with a proposal for an overview of the report and a timeline for its implementation.
At its 61st session later in 2024, the panel will review the draft and decide on further work on the special report on climate change and cities.
