The Forest Faculty visits Seoul

The XV World Forest Congress (WFC) was held in Seoul, South Korea, from May 2nd to May 6th, 2022. The World Forestry Congress is the premier worldwide forest policy forum, and the Faculty of Forest Sciences could not afford to miss it. A delegation of 19 persons to Seoul, including administrative personnel, PhD students, senior researchers, and a professor was sent.
The department of Forest Ecology and Management organized a bi-lingual (English-Korean) booth, which attracted more than 300 visitors per day and boosted many potential collaborations; and Professor Francisco Aguilar gave a presentation during the session "Managing forests for the SDGs: Creating value, equality, and resilience from forest products and ecosystem services" where he joined speakers from FAO, LUKE, Thuenen, and others. Sfak was also present at the IUFRO World Congress 2024 committee's exhibit.
Without a doubt, the Faculty of Forest Sciences was well represented, and all of our delegates actively participated in the congress and post-congress excursions, such as associate professor Marine Elbakidze, who attended the World Forestry Congress excursion to the National Center for Forest Therapy, which was established to improve people's health by utilizing the abundant forest resources of the Baekdudaegan Mountain Ridge.
