News from the VH Faculty Board, 13 June

The agenda was a mix of decision and information items, including a decision to appoint members of the academic appointments board, recruit two new professors, and information about the gender equality work at the faculty. To finish, production manager Mats Pehrsson gave a presentation on the research and teaching done at Lövsta.

New members of the academic appointments board

The faculty board decided to appoint the following colleagues members of the academic appointments board. Their mandate runs from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2025 at the latest. Members of the academic appointments board are appointed for three years, beginning six months after the newly elected faculty board is established.

Recruitment

Provided the vice-chancellor gives her approval, the faculty board will initiate the recruitment of a professor of nutrition physiology and metabolism in monogastric animals at the Department of Animal Nutrition and Management.

Gender equality work at VH

During the pilot project "Gender equality at VH", former vice dean with responsibility for gender equality and equal conditions (JLV) Maja Malmberg together with JLV administrator Malin Ekström took a closer look at gender equality at VH by interviewing recent dissertations at the faculty and compiling statistics on gender distribution at different job categories. The Faculty Board got to see the results and now a report is being compiled which will form the basis for a workshop on the theme for the Faculty Board and heads of the department during the autumn.

The Faculty Board on a tour of Lövsta

At the last faculty board meeting in April, the board was presented with the activities conducted in VH's stable in VHC. The visit was part of the plan for the board to get to know the various activities at the faculty. The last meeting of the semester was held at Lövsta agricultural research. Now the committee and the others who attended the meeting were shown both the pig stable and the cow stable. In the picture, it is research coordinator Julia Österberg (in a black shirt) who knowledgeable told the present about the activities in the cow stable. Deputy foreman Helena Oscarsson also guided.
