News from the VH Faculty Board, 27 April

Published: 29 April 2022

The faculty board met on 27 April. The main items on the agenda were information on the quarterly financial statement and the expansion of the veterinary programmes. The board also took decisions on recruitments. The meeting ended with a visit to the VHC stables.

Quarterly financial statement, March

Financial Officer Jimmy Karlsson gave an overview of faculty finances during the first quarter. To summarise:

Results after the first quarter show a surplus, not including annual leave costs, of +6,527 thousand kr, which in relation to this year’s budget (a total of minus 8,673) is far better than planned, mainly due to operating costs being lower than predicted.

Expansion of the veterinary medicine and veterinary nursing programmes

Anders Bjurstam, project manager, and Johanna Pernell, chair of the programme board, gave an update on the expansion of the programmes in veterinary medicine and veterinary nursing. Recruitments

The board regularly decides on recruitment cases. This time, a decision was taken to launch the recruitment of two professors.

Visit to the stables

As part of the faculty board’s plan to acquaint itself with the faculty’s various parts, the board paid a visit to the VH stables in the VHC. First it was the stable foreman Marie Wallbring (with her back to the camera) who showed the various activities. Then experimental technician Åsa Eriksson showed the always so interesting goats and explained what they are used for.
