New information regarding archiving Fronter - files will be archived centrally
The canvas project is pleased to announce that SLU has decided to order an export of all files in the course room archive in Fronter. SLU's archive unit will receive the export file.
This means that you do not have to archive your documents yourself according to SLU's guidelines for archiving.
However, you still need to save own material that you want to use in Canvas.
What do I need to do before Fronter closes?
Since 6 April 2019, no new course rooms have been created in Fronter, and on 20 December 2019, Fronter will be taken out of service.
Before we close Fronter materials need to be stored or migrated to be used in our new learning platform, Canvas.
Saving your own material
You will need to go through your own content in Fronter and save any material you want to keep or reuse in Canvas. The archive unit will not be able to search individual files for this purpose.
- Read the instruction on how to export content in Fronter course rooms.
Migrating question databases to Canvas
If you want to reuse your Fronter questions in Canvas, the project group can help. Email your migration request to canvas@slu.se.
Document students who have not received a pass grade
You need to document any students who have not received a pass grade on a course, as they may return later to complete the course. This applies to all course rooms were you have students who have not a pass grade. You can do this by following the guide below.
Support
There are regular Canvas trainings and workshops where you can get help on how to use the functions and your rooms in Canvas, as well as help on saving Fronter content. Don’t miss this opportunity!
