Erika Cristina Francisco
Presentation
My name is Erika Francisco. I am originally from Brazil, where I have completed my bachelor degree in Technologist in Environmental Sanitation and a Ph.D in Chemical Engineering, specifically with biorefineries for reuse and valuation of wastewater for the production of bioproducts from microalgae. I worked as a university professor in the Environmental Engineering Department at University of Passo Fundo for three years and, as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the project “Food-Energy-Water Nexus Governance” by the University of Campinas and Belmont Forum. In SLU, I am working as Postdoctoral Researcher in sustainable sanitation systems dynamics modelling at Department of Energy and Technology.
Teaching
Three years experience as a professor in the Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Passo Fundo, coordinating research about biorefinery.
Research
Systems Dynamic modelling for Kretsloppsteknik.
Background
Graduated in Technology in Environmental Sanitation - University of Campinas/UNICAMP (2003-2007).
Master's degree in Chemical Engineering - University of Campinas/UNICAMP (208-2010). Studies directed to photosynthetic systems aiming at CO2 mitigation, biomass and biodiesel production from different strains of microalgae.
Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering - University of Campinas/UNICAMP (2010-2014). Thesis based on heterotrophic systems (cyanobacterium/microalgae) using wastewater as a culture medium, aiming at the valuation of residues and the implementation of systems based on biorefinery.
Postdoctoral fellow (2019 - 2021) - Innovation Management in Food Sustainable Systems, in the School of Applied Sciences - UNICAMP, specifically with analysis of social and environmental indicators in predictive scenarios through System Dynamics modeling at WASTE FEW (Food-Energy-Water) SP ULL (São Paulo In Natura Lab), FAPESP/Belmont Forum Consortium.
