Kickstart: Prototyping

Ready to turn your idea into reality or curious about joining a startup? In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to create a digital prototype using AI to visualize and communicate your concept. You’ll gain an understanding of prototyping basics, receive a crash course in Lean Startup and Design Thinking, build your own prototype with on-site support, and leave with concrete next steps for developing and testing your idea.

You’ll get:
• A understanding of prototyping basics – how to create representations of your idea that make it easier to explore and share with others.
• Hands-on experience – with our support on site, you’ll build your own prototype.
• Actionable next steps – leave with concrete ways to keep developing and testing your concept. If you want to create a physical product after the session, we’ll make sure you get access to the Curiosum Makerspace and the support you need.

You will also receive a crash course in lean startup and design thinking, approaches we use that will help you in your ongoing idea development.

Set up
KICKSTART begins with a 45-minute presentation from the Innovation Office, followed by individual work, based on the session's theme. During this time, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss your ideas with business developers on site. We work under confidentiality.

People from SLU and Umeå University who have an idea they want to develop, or are interested in joining a startup. No prior knowledge is required to participate.
