Launching of the new Uppsala University’s Forum for Africa Studies

Welcome to the Launching of the New Uppsala University’s Forum for Africa Studies. Vice-Chancellor of Uppsala University Professor Anders Hagfeldt will inaugurate the new centre, followed by short research presentations by young scholars, a round-table on research collaborations in and with Africa, and a key note on critical African Studies.

Since January 2023, Uppsala University’s Forum for Africa Studies has a new, broader mandate to work with all faculties to increase and strengthen higher education, and research activities and collaborations in, and with Africa. The Forum will seek to facilitate, coordinate, and provide encounters for the manifold of initiatives, opportunities, and commitments underway or to be developed.

The New Uppsala University’s Forum for Africa Studies is part of Vice-Chancellor’s Africa Initiative. The launching will offer a wholeday of inspiring presentations of the African Initiative, of the Forum, and of young scholars. A round-table on how to engage and collaborate with African universities & research institutes. The day will end with a key note address on Critical African Studies.
