Internationalisation at home and internationalisation of curricula
Internationalisation at home (I@H)
Internationalisation at home (I@H) is a common concept that was first used in Sweden by Bengt Nilsson in 2000 at Malmö University.
‘…the purposeful integration of international and intercultural dimensions into the formal and informal curriculum for all students within domestic learning environments’ (Beelen & Jones, 2015)
Internationalisation of the curriculum (IoC)
Internationalisation of curricula (IoC) has become a central concept within higher education that aims to ensure high-quality education that is both inclusive and fair.
‘The incorporation of an international and intercultural dimension into the content of the curriculum as well as the teaching and learning arrangements and support services of a program of study.’ (Leask, 2015)
Karolinska Institutet provides a good description of IoC on their website: What is Internationalisation of the Curriculum (IoC)?
