Get started with Microsoft Office 365

As an employee at SLU, you have access to a range of services within Microsoft 365. These services are in the cloud and make it easy to share information, documents and images both internally and externally. Therefore, it is very important to remember that personal data and sensitive personal data should not be stored in Microsoft 365.
Personal data includes for example, name, e-mail address, telephone number, photos, employment number, information about health, ethnic origin, trade union affiliation or political opinion.
Some simple tips:
- Share links, not files: Send a link to the document rather than attaching the file. Then you are in control and can withdraw access.
- Check permissions: Before uploading a file to a Team - double check who is on that Team. All members get access to the file.
- External collaboration: Be extra careful when inviting guests from outside the organization. Just share exactly what they need to see.

Onedrive
OneDrive is your personal storage space. As an employee at SLU, you have access to 100GB of storage space as standard, which can be expanded if necessary.
Onedrive comes pre-installed on your SLU computer, but can also be accessed via Onedrive.com.
Teams
Teams (Sharepoint Online) is a collaboration space with file sharing, meetings, chat and more. You can invite both internal and external staff. Microsoft Teams comes pre-installed on your SLU computer. See below link for how to create a team and share files properly.
Microsoft Office
Everyone at SLU has access to Office Online, i.e. the Office package in the web browser. This means you can create, upload and edit files in the browser and then save it to your OneDrive. If, on the other hand, you need access to the entire Office suite on your computer, you can enter via the link below to submit a form for the version of Office 365 you would need.
