SLU at Almedalen 2026 – R/V Svea in Visby harbour
Preparations for this year’s “Almedalsveckan” are well underway. From 23–25 June, SLU will be present in Visby, with the research vessel Svea serving as the venue for seminars, discussions and meetings between academia, policymakers, public authorities, industry and civil society.
The programme is still taking shape and aims to create an open and welcoming meeting place where SLU can contribute knowledge and perspectives to current societal issues, ranging from forests, fisheries and food preparedness to the role of universities when democracy is under pressure.
At the request of the vice-chancellor, pro vice-chancellor Annsofi Wahlström is responsible for coordinating SLU’s participation at Almedalen. The project manager is Annika Mossing. The seminar programme is coordinated and moderated by Erik Fahlbeck, former pro vice-chancellor for collaboration at SLU and now working as an adviser in strategic organisational development.
