IGA IDIS 2.0 goes Omada

Published: 17 September 2025

On 24 September, we will launch a new platform, Omada, for managing user accounts and access rights for employees and contractors at SLU.

The rollout will take place in several stages during 2025. Since the first stage was completed in spring 2025 Omada/IGA has been managing all student accounts.

Stage 2 – employees and contractors

In this stage Omada will handle:

  • Creating accounts for new employees and contractors
  • Assigning access rights based on organizational affiliation
  • Closing accounts and access rights when employment or assignments end

The next stage, for which a date has not yet been set, will introduce an ordering portal for access rights and roles connected to SLU’s information and IT systems.

More information in Swedish is available on the project website.

What’s new in Omada compared to IDIS?

Due to stricter security requirements, the handling of account and data deactivation/deletion will change:

  1. On the same day employment or an assignment ends, the account and email address will be deactivated.
  2. For up to 30 days afterwards, the account can be reactivated if the employment or assignment is extended.Directory managers handle extensions.
  3. After these 30 days, access rights will be removed, but data (such as e-mails or files) will be retained for another 13 months and can be restored if a new employment or assignment is created.
  4. 14 months after the end of employment or assignment, all e-mail and data will be permanently deleted.
